Britain’s Fastest Runner

It was a historic day for British sport today. A British runner, called Mo Farah, competed in the 5,000 m and he has become the first man to win the race three times. He ran the last lap in 52 seconds and despite some problems with his leg, he won the race.   He has also won gold medals at the Olympic Games.

Mo Farah was born in Somalia and he moved to Britain when he was 8 years old. He began entering running competitions when he was 13 years old and it soon became very clear that he had a great talent. In January 2014 he moved to Oregon in the USA with his wife and children. In addition, Farah has a large following on social media. He has 1 million followers on Twitter and 400,000 on Facebook.
