Black Friday

British shops have recently come up with a new way to encourage people to spend more money. It’s an idea which originates in the USA where they have the festival of Thanksgiving in November. In America the day after Thanksgiving Day is a day when the shops reduce their prices many products are sold at a discount. Many people rush to their nearest shopping mall and the day has become so busy it has been named Black Friday.

In England we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving Day. However, the shops have still decided to follow the trend and have sales. Crowds of people have gone shopping in the UK in the hope of buying products that they want at cheaper prices. In Manchester the police had to be called as the shopping began to get out of control.
