The Tower of London attracts large crowds

The Tower of London is one of the city’s most famous landmarks and it has played an important role in English history. It was built in the 11th century and is always a popular destination for tourists.

However, even more people than usual are currently going to the Tower of London because of a new exhibition called ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’. The exhibition consists of 900,000 ceramic flowers which have been placed around the tower. The flowers are poppies, which are bright red wild flowers which have been used since 1921 as a symbol of soldiers who have died in war. The exhibition has been described as ‘spectacular, stunning and very moving’.
