A recent survey asked two thousand parents about the happiest memories from their childhood. The top ten activities have been put into an illustrated guide called ‘Simple Pleasures’.
The results of the survey show that simple outdoor activities were the most memorable. These included eating fish and chips at the seaside, having a picnic in the countryside and camping. Other happy memories included collecting fruit, bike rides in the forest and visiting old castles.
The aim of the survey is to encourage parents to find exciting things to do in their local region rather than focusing on expensive foreign holidays, computer games and watching TV.
