An important concert for Sir Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney is, of course, one of the most successful composers and singers of all time and is most famous for being the singer with The Beatles. The Beatles were a pop group formed in 1960 and songs such as ‘Yesterday’ can still be heard all over the world.

This week Sir Paul McCartney was in San Francisco for a special concert. It was in that city in 1966 that the Beatles played their last ever concert together and now the stadium where they played is going to close.

The concert lasted for three hours and included many of the Beatles best loved songs such as “Hey Jude” and “Let It Be”. 49,000 people attended the show. It was a nostalgic night for Paul McCartney and also for the people of San Francisco, who said goodbye to their stadium before it was demolished.
